A free walking social club where you can go outside and make new connections in the city.

Hi! I’m Maryam, and I am the founder of VanCity Girls Who Walk.

I started this group because I want to help BC women beat loneliness, find community, feel supported, and build lasting relationships in a social sphere that is notoriously difficult to navigate — especially for people who just moved here.

And let’s be honest…

I also want it to become the biggest walking group there is! The more women who benefit from this initiative, the better, so please tell your friends and help us grow!

Spread the love on social and find and tag us via @vancitygirlswhowalk.

That’s all for now.

Maryam is an entrepreneur, health-tech CEO, mother of two, former immigrant, mental health advocate, and social activist who has been living in Vancouver for more than 30 years. Her career has been dynamic, and her life exceptionally full, but there is one central theme that underscores most of what she does — a desire to uplift women around the world. On Sundays, she brings this energy to VanCity Girls Who Walk, and she’d love to have you join her.

We are a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for women of all ages to connect — without the pressure to overdrink, overspend, or overexert ourselves.

We created this group to…

  • Build community
  • Foster mental and physical health
  • Spark lasting friendships
  • Inspire gentle movement
  • And spend more time in nature

Be on our list!

We want women to be able to come when it works for them, and to make this a no-pressure setup. All you have to do is show up and have fun.

That said, we do occasionally have special events — such as happy hour or themed get togethers. You can sign up for those by adding yourself to our email list, so please fill out this form
